Favorite Wine Shows
From my perspective, local conferences, association meetings, and small regional trade shows are a great opportunity for you to rub elbows with neighbors and friends and compare notes on region- specific challenges. This can be a huge help if you never get the opportunity to talk to your neighbors. But if it costs you the same to spend 2 or 3 days at a hotel during a larger conference, shouldn't you consider going to that?
New World Winery Equipment only does business in the East. The East starts on the right hand side of The Rockies to me. But realistically, more of our friends are in the central and eastern time zones than anywhere else.
First and foremost, while we are huge fans of Vineyard & Winery Management Magazine, we are not affiliated with them. In the spirit of service to our fair industry, I feel obligated to implore you to place priority on attending either Wineries Unlimited (moving to Richmond for 2011) or The Midwest Grape and wine Conference (St. Charles, Missouri).
The Best and Biggest Trade Show in The East: Wineries Unlimited.
The founders of Vineyard & Winery Management are publishers and their family are very well known and highly regarded people in our industry. It seems that all of the old timers know Bill Moffett and Hope Merletti. Well, these days, it's Rob Merletti and Jennifer Merletti who are the driving force behind the brand. And they are held in especially high esteem on a personal level by us. That notwithstanding, if you do anything with wine grapes anywhere along the eastern seaboard, Wineries Unlimited is still the best show of the year for us (you and New World Winery Equipment) to attend. You can be a spectator, or participate in the numerous functions, exhibits, events, and seminars. We never miss it. And we are especially looking forward to a show in 2011 someplace a little warmer!
New and Improved: The Midwest Grape and Wine Conference.
Katie, bar the door! Vineyard & Winery Management is also running this show now and promise to make what was formerly "The Missouri Show" become The Central Region Conference of the American wine industry. If you make wine or grow grapes anywhere that is considered the center of the country, please come and see us at this. Come on, Texas! I have been hearing for six years how great your wine is becoming. Have you considered comparing it to Tennessee, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, and Arkansas? I dare you! Come to St. Charles, MO and "Show Me". See you at The Midwest Grape and Wine Conference.
